We are currently seeking full-time Molding Technicians for all shifts to support the molding needs of the Manufacturing department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate molding machines and molds in accordance with standard procedures.  Maintain an acceptable level of production, quality, and housekeeping in accordance with good manufacturing practices.
  • Verify correct set-up of molds, presses, and auxiliary equipment before machine start up.  Establish proper molding conditions.  Obtain mold approval at the appropriate time.
  • Assist with the set-up and maintenance of auxiliary equipment, including granulators, conveyors, liquid temperature controls, and mold electrical controls.
  • Make minor repairs to machines and equipment and notify proper personnel of necessary major repairs.
  • Assist Setup Technicians as time permits and help relieve other molding technicians on breaks or in the event of absenteeism.
  • Assist supervisor with training programs for new employees.
  • Responsible and accountable for achieving adequate production levels, maintaining the expected product quality, and keeping area (that area contained in and adjacent to the machines/presses assigned to a particular molding technician) clean and orderly.
  • Familiar with all the department's inspection procedures and standards.  Responsible for the regular and periodic monitoring of product for acceptable quality to the most recent specification.
  • Maintain records and prepare legible reports, including SPC reports, QC inspection reports, housekeeping checklists, mold cavity sheets, production downtime reports, cycle time sheets and problem/corrective action logs, etcetera in accordance with departmental standards and Quality System Standards.
  • Observe all safety and environmental procedures and good manufacturing practices.
  • Work with limited supervision and maintain an atmosphere of cooperation among and between shifts, Tool Room, Quality Control, and Management to facilitate departmental goals.
  • Performs special projects and other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

  • Must have a basic understanding of the use personal computers including the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and ERP software.

  • Must be self-motivated and demonstrate the ability to work with limited supervision.

  • Must possess a high level of attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with the appropriate sense of urgency.

  • Must possess good general math skills.

  • Position requires a dedicated and enthusiastic team member with strong organization, problem solving, and communication skills.

  • Must demonstrate a commitment to self-development and continued professional growth.


  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two years of injection molding troubleshooting and set-up experience.
  • Good knowledge of injection molding processes.
  • General knowledge of plastic materials and processes.
  • General knowledge of mold design and operation.
  • Knowledge of auxiliary equipment involved in injection molding.
  • Strong mechanical skills required.
  • Familiarity with Scientific Molding, RJG, or Beaumont Technology a plus.

Language/Communication Skills

  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally with co-workers in one on one and small group situations.
  • Must have basic business writing skills.
